Our story

It started with Ari.

Our youngest has a talent for chaos. At 12 months old, he'd figured out that the fastest way to end a meal he wasn't enjoying was to flip his bowl. We'd tried every suction bowl on the market — and so had our friends. The verdict was always the same: the suction looked good in the ad, but in practice, a determined one-year-old would have it off the table in seconds.

We live in Perth, Western Australia. Brad works in construction. Cara is a primary school teacher who spends her days wrangling classrooms full of kids — and then comes home to two of her own. Cohen is four and opinionated about everything. Ari is one and engineered for mess. Between the two of them, we were doing a lot of floor cleaning.

So Brad got to work. The idea was simple: instead of relying on suction alone, what if the bowl actually locked into the mat? A twist-lock system — the kind of mechanism that doesn't budge unless an adult releases it. We spent months getting the design right, sourcing platinum food-grade silicone, and testing it through more mealtimes than we can count. Ari has not successfully removed it once.

Tidy Tucka is built by parents, for parents. We know what messy mealtimes actually look like — and we know how much calmer everything feels when the bowl stays put. We hope it does the same for your family.
